Hi all

I m swapping the nose from 3/8 to .404 at a Stihl 3003 bar

Bar is 30 inch and while 3/8 is 98dls

Anyone know how many DL would love the .404 so i can cut the chain?

When I was making chain for bars that did not match the saw and the drive count was off (usually one longer or one shorter than what it should have been), I would go one or two links longer, mock it up on the bar and see where it ended up and knocked off how ever many links it (usually only one) to get the length it needed. I tended to use junk chain that way I could butterfly in a few lengths if the chain was not long enough and then knock out what I needed to get the correct count and then make up the good chain with the number I figured out.

Here is a link to Stihl's site with info:
STIHL Rollomatic ES guide bar, .404", 1.6 mm

Part Number: 30020009741
Yep but 3002 is bigger bar for the 120cc saws, so for sure the dl are not correct for the smaller 3003

So if 91dl at 3002 then should be 5-6dl less out in 3003
Logic comes to 85or87links max total for 3003

I ll inform when i cut the chain
