It’s not an opinion it’s a proven fact as you stated. The HD filter “neck” is mostly the problem. Some have made custom velocity stacks with aftermarket filter options that make the HD setup work better for them.
Yes they have and made it worth it. That's where I was saying your opinion. Not the fact that the HD has restricted flow.

That’s cool, I never said anything about aftermarket parts though in my original post. I was just referring to stock OEM parts that come on the saw and what the best setup is from that standpoint performance wise. Some just want a plug and play setup with no extra work.

HD = Heavy Duty , not High Flow

The HD AF is supposed the delay maintenance, not increase power.

If You want power go stock non-HD AF with black coarse nylon filter.
Utilize the fine white nylon filter if You cut a lot of dry and hard wood.

Just my opinion, not proven facts!

Cool we can agree to disagree.

The transition from the rubber bellow to the neck is a major disruption. Of course the filter is restrictive, I do agree with that...

But other stuff is also going on. And I did run other filter options as well that made an improvement.

I ran both stock filter combos with the carb on a super flow. Solidworks models also confirms the same with basic analysis.

Hi top for the k&n and the uni. Let me see if I can dig up a few pics.
I’d imagine Nick could come up with a foam filter and lo pro stack that would fit under the low top. Not sure if there would be enough foam surface area for it to be effective or not
