Used 880 or NIB 3120??

Im back in the market for a big saw. More of a novelty to keep around if I need it. Got one guy thats got a 880, very good looking saw. I have yet to yank the Muffler off and give her a look. But it runs out strong. Got another guy with a brand new in the box 3120. Im a stihl guy, but I wouldn't mind crossing the line for a big saw. 3120 is just a hair cheaper than the 880. I have never done much research into both of these saws head to head, and I plan to leave both stock other than possibly a bolt on or two. Whats the scoop. Which one should I grab and why

A complete kit of who knows what but hey I'd waste a few just to see.

Either the 3120 is overpriced or the 880 is underpriced. You gotta figger that out first. The bars on big stihls don't swap so the bar thing swing don't fly either why.

The stihl is reasonably priced. They seem to carry better resale value. The 3120 is priced very good. used 880's are going for more than new 3120's on ebay at the moment.

And I really do like the ft saws. I enjoy building them and making a dollar here and there on them. But Im in the market for an OEM saw that will last through whatever I throw at it

3120 no doubt if used 88s are that high

Buy the more expensive one. Then you can be extra bummed when you realize you hardly ever use it and it will only be fun if you dump a ton more money into it.
