Whom are You asking?how is the progress on making your new tool?
oh right, @davidwybyWhom are You asking?
Lost me…?oh right, @davidwyby
Forgot…got busy…need some .050 shim stock. not sure I want to be stuck with one angle.the title of this thread is about you making an adapter to for your grinder to square grind chains.
being stuck with only one angle would be ok if you made it for the hard wood that you cut the most. it will still cut softer wood really well. but i get it.Forgot…got busy…need some .050 shim stock. not sure I want to be stuck with one angle.
I did but not worth the effort.@species8472 says he square ground with his USG with no attachments once…maybe I’ll get out there and fart around with it tonight. Too muddy outside.
I mill with square chisel and before I use em the gullet gets round filed below where the wheel sharps the top part. Seems to flo the chips better or something that makes for better speed. Angle at what wheel is or a bit sharperView attachment 392467View attachment 392468View attachment 392469View attachment 392470
This is .404 by Jeff. I think these angles look best for the junk I cut.

No just touched one cutter to see what I hadThat’s actually looking decent
Have you tried it in wood ?
It will be goodthat is a good angle for most wood....i would bet that it wont last long in that wood you cut because the top plate angle is too steep or pointed. it will cut soft wood like a banshee though.
im sure it will cut. i just think it will be grabby in his dry euc
