A friend of mine is planning to sell some of his milsurps, a nice Remington 1903A3 and an Eddystone 1917, and needs to get a idea of what they are worth. I don't know much about milsurps so told him I would ask around and get opinions on them. Here are his descriptions of the rifles and Google drive links for pics:

Remington 1903A3 - Google Drive

Remington 1903A3 s/n 3529984 manufactured April 1943. It has a bright clean four groove 4-43 barrel that measures 1 on my CMP gauge. Could very well be the original barrel/receiver combo.

Cartouches are crisp. P proof and FJA, RA and Ordnance Wheel nice. There is a slight rough spot forward of the barrel band and a ding on the rear sight ear – it did its job. Should be enough R stamps all over it to make anyone concerned very happy.

Overall appears to be a tight, clean, correct and unmolested April ’43. Action is smooth and offhand accuracy at 100 yards was very nice. I’m not a match shooter but bet this rifle could be.

1918 Eddystone - Google Drive

Eddystone m1917 s/n 1221900 manufactured November 1918. Barrel does have some dark spots, probably from corrosive ammo. It measures 1.25 – 1.5 on my CMP gauge. Could very well be the original barrel/receiver combination.

Antique cartouches and stamps are crisp. Overall appears to be a tight, clean, correct and unmolested November 1918 rifle. Not reparked or refurbed for WW2, still in its original kit. Considering its 113 years old it’s in excellent condition. Action is smooth and offhand accuracy at 100 yards was very nice. I’m not a match shooter but bet this rifle could be.

Just looking on Gunbroker, I told him I think $1500.00 for the 03 and $1100.00 for the 1917 would be fair, but I would see if anybody else would know better.
