Just talked to my state legislator, and she thinks that allowing single shot cartridge rifles with big bore straight wall cartridges during muzzleloader season is a good idea. She said she would discuss it with Fish and Wildlife. Some of our counties have serious overpopulation of deer and this could help get those numbers down. If CWD reached those counties it would be devastating.

Finally got my mount back for this guy I took in 2021. Don't think I'm ever gonna top it!

My FIL is an official scorer for B&C and Buckmasters. He scored it yesterday, says it is officially a 13 pointer and scores 151-7/8 B&C and 141 Buckmasters .

Buckmasters should have a higher score then B&C as BTR doesn’t have deductions like B&C does. Nice buck though
My best is 158 0/8” BTR if I scored B&C or P&Y it would be 153 to 154. It only has around 4” of deductions.

I would shoot either of those, and not feel guilty about it.

The older I get, the more 'picky' I've become. (am spoiled, have had a couple hundred acres to myself since forever) Been watching them for probably 15 years with the cameras. I can often recognize the offspring of past bucks at this point. Can't figure out how to get them to grow some length on all those tines (just local genetics I think). They get mineral every summer and are fed from Dec through to March with corn. Used to do several food plots, throw out apples and all that stuff. Now I just have a couple licks and feeders by my firewood processing yard in the woods.

Sounds like you’re OK with letting them go and grow. See what happens 🤷🏻‍♂️

I planted some food plots for my Boss this year.
Some high $$ mixture he had.
Peas/turnips ect...
Turnips are the size of softballs.

His grandson killed a good one this year off one plot.

His son has like 6 really good ones mounted he killed in the the same plots.

I’m hoping to see some of these when I go back to WV next year.
