I ran some that came with the mmws 550 that @Mastermind built for me (excellent job) and really liked it. Have been looking online for a roll of .325 .050. But it all has the anti kickback. Go up to the 3/8 and no kickback. HLsupply is having a sale on 100’ rolls, I called and guy said the anti kickback is all they offer in that configuration. Do you guys know if they make the .325 .050 without anti kickback?

Thanks. I’ve got some other rolls of chisel in that size, I just was really impressed with the one loop of x-cut that came with Randy’s saw. And it had the anti kickback. I’m thinking it would cut even better without that crap.

I have not liked Oregon's anti kickback .325, it seems ok in 3/8, but this last loop of .325 just cut slow, dulled fast and filed really easy.
Looking forward to the no. of that Husky chain

HLsupply shows 20LPX100U available for $350. By the pictures on the oregon website, it appears to be a full chisel with a small bumper next to the raker.

Minor question here. What is X cut chain? Is it just chain that is extra durable? If so Then you need to go with M20LPX chain with is full chisel without safety bumpers. Just doesn't comes rolls anymore just loops.

The x-cut chain is just some real good cutting chain. I think it cuts better than any chain I’ve ran on my small saws. I’ve got some full chisel woodland pro (Carlton) that I’ve been running for awhile now and the x-cut cuts better than that. It’s a small difference but I make my living running saws and I like that feeling of being dialed in perfect, it’s kind of hard to put into words but I know some of you get it, like when you’ve got a good ported saw that’s just cutting as good as it can and it makes the task at hand more enjoyable.

This is why so many different type of chains are made. Different applications and operators require different type of chains. Here I like to use a ramped version for plunge cuts due the lower kickback then I switch back a regular style safety chain. I am just a home owner when it comes to using chainsaws as I cut mainly for my own use.

Now earlier this year I had customer wanting a skip tooth 3/8lp chain and it took a few days surfing to find it.

I just bought a loop of Oregon anti kickback .325 junk too,ran it on 55 husky, didn't like it, it dulled easylly, sharper it up, lowered rakers a couple of swipes. The cutters filled easy, Archer makes a better chain this.View attachment 272362
You know that's narrow kerf chain, right? Type 95.

I tried the X-Cut chain in 3/8 .058. C-85, and I was very impressed with it. I picked up a 100" reel. I had hoped it would come out it .325, but no luck as of yet. When I picked up my 550 MkII, Bob put a loop of Oregon .325 LPX on it. It's got a bumper, but again, very pleased with it. Oregon now puts out my beloved old LGX in .325 without bumper links. If I can't eventually get the X-Cut in .325 like the C-85, I'll get a reel of LGX.
