I get minus33 all merino and I usually order the tops in a long size to make sure there’s nice overlap.

I had some other 100% merino tights and they didn’t hold up too well.

When the bottoms ripped I cut two neck tubes outta the legs.
Those are life savers.
Wear them every day.

My experience is the Minus 33 will last years. I highly recommend them.

No, I never jumped on board with Under Armor. Hard to imagine it out performs the wool. The wool still insulates when its wet. The wool can absorb 30% of its weight in moisture.

I use the UA. Only stuff I knew about at the time. It works well. Makes for a good base layer. Wicks the moisture to the outer clothing and doesn't seem to get wet or stay wet at all. Keeps you warm at skin level.

I'm not very brand loyal. I have found the Superfine Merino wool is soft and very comfortable. I have lots of if made by Minus 33. The superfine has a smaller fiber making it much more comfortable than normal wool. You can read about it here. https://www.minus33.com/wool-properties/

My sox are mainly Wigwam and RedHead.

When I'm not doing work that requires the Carhartt insulated bibs I have been skipping the long underwear and wearing flannel lined Carhartt pants. I just got a pair of Wrangler Riggs for xmas that are fleece lined and have thinsilate. They seem much warmer than the flannel lined.
Where do you guys source your minus33 stuff?

Either amazon or their website.
There’s a place in Wisconsin called sherper’s where I 1st found the stuff.

Pricey but it really does seem to hold up better than the competition.
I like the mid weight layers (chocorua)

When it gets cold as balls I’ll throw a layer of polyester (worknsport) midweights over the wool.

I have thrift store shirts and hoodies for my outer layers.
With walls ditchdiggers or dickies for pants
When I’m in the woods I wear chainsaw chaps and a north face med weight jacket

In the woods I like Hoffmans 14” thinsulate winter pacs
Unless it’s cold as balls, then it’s Hoffman’s felt winter pacs.
Same goes if I’m spiking a removal.

If I’m pruning i have some lousy caterpillar composite toe 6”
But they barely make it on season.

Summer is also composite toe boots for prune jobs and 12” nick’s logger boots with steel toes for spikes and woods work.

Wool socks with liners for the cold, cotton for the hot days.

I wear that wool neck tube about 60% of the year.
