Would like to get an X-Cut chain for this saw. I've never had this narrow/low-pro/mini/micro stuff before so I want to make sure I get the right one. If there are any sellers hear I'd be happy to buy from an OPE member or sponsor. Saw is a Dolmar PS-32.Screenshot_20220731-112212_Gallery.jpg

Not to hijack, but can you run a X-Cut chain on a regular Husky or Jonsered bar, or do you have to use a X-Force bar as well?

Thanks, NYH1.

Xcut is the name of their new chain. It’s not yet available in all sizes.

X force is just the name of the bar. Nothing to do with the chain

Wasn't sure if you needed to use both together, thanks.

huskihl, a few other questions.

Are the new X-Cut chains better than the older Husky/Jonsered/Oregon chains? Same question for the new X-Force bars, are they better than the older Husky/Jonsered/Oregon bars?

Thanks, NYH1.

X cut is supposed to be really good. Haven’t used the full chisel stuff, myself.
Don’t know anything about xforce bars

If the X-cut chain specs are the same as Your bars specs it will fit!
I have a .325" X-Cut chain, nothing special about it and it fits my .325" Dolmar bar.

Yeah, my son got a X-Cut C85 chain (18", 3/8, .058") for his CS 2258 to put on a new regular Husky bar. Works great.

I think the chin is better. Hand files nice. The new bars tips are much better.

I like it straight out of the box & it’s very smooth, must say though, it comes somewhat more like a cross between square filed chain, of which to me i no longer do, so there is some loss when round files are used, a dozen round Vallorbe files is cheaper than one for square filing in price, and they are harder to find and I’m not racing, a proper square file on it would be interesting to see. Still a great chain, love it but about 20-25% more expensive in Aus’ I usually use Oregon or Carlton full chisel skip tooth, but it’s the next choice. If you haven’t run one I say try it and make your own decision I feel you will be impressed. Stay sharp :)

Kevin I ran a brand new out of the box c83 chain on the xs 572xpg at the Wisco gtg this last Saturday . You were there watching the log racing so that's what it cuts like out of the box . @sledneck22 who did a awesome job of making a video of the gtg ran the chain when we switched saws . Kyle only made two cuts with the chain but might give any thoughts on the x-cut chain .

I have used two of the C83 chains, when new it cuts very fast, it is hard to copy the factory grind, as someone has said it is almost a square grind.
I like to hit the top edge with a 1/8 wheel leaned over to 50°, then go lower with the 3/16 wheel at 55-60°, (I have 4 grinders), this kind of copys the factory grind.

But, is the chain sharp?

I thought the chain self fed really well, zero chatter, and cut like hell. Nice even chips too. I might be interested when they’re more readily available in my area.

Looked like it was cruising right along against that 7900. Wood was pretty solid as well
