That's the direction I was thinking of going. Still has decent power with the 18?18” .325

Yeah less bending over is always good for the back. So far the 18 is sounding great to me.Yeah for sure, easily. I like a 18 over a 16 for the reach. Easier on my back.
A 20” .325 is even better yet for my back and a stock 550/346 pull it fine but the 20 throws chains a lot easier than 16/18 doing brush work. You have to run tighter chain tension with that longer bar and narrow tip. I usually step up to the 562 if I want to run a 20” anyway and it has a lot more torque with that bar length.Yeah less bending over is always good for the back. So far the 18 is sounding great to me.
Limbing and smaller wood. How do you like the 3/8 set up?Well how are you gonna be using it?
I have 18 3/8s on mine.
That is still a consideration also. My next saw up after this is 66cc, so not quite sure witch way to go yet.I guess I’m the oddball here...I run a 16” .325 total bar on my ported 346 Oe and really like it. I’m sure it’d pull more but I have other saws for other bars..the 16 makes it feel really nimble
20” 3/8 on 66cc bucking firewood and .325 18” on the 346 for brush work and smaller firewood imo. That is still a consideration also. My next saw up after this is 66cc, so not quite sure witch way to go yet.
Yep I run a 20 or 24 on my 66cc saws 3/8 of course. This is my first small saw besides my top handle. Thank you for your input.20” 3/8 on 66cc bucking firewood and .325 18” on the 346 for brush work and smaller firewood imo.
Yeah I don't want to be light handed lol. To me I would rather have some torque, but I do realize it's only 50cc.Stock 50cc do 3/8 fine with a light hand, the torque suffers though.
Got a brand new 346xp oe on the way. I want to see what everybody likes bar and chain wise. Oh and a big thank you to Dan @AlfA01 .
