Last AM seals I tried were something generic and were a brown color. Felt stiff. They made the crank hard to spin by hand and didn't hold a seal long at all.
there are good ones and crappy ones. I like the BAO seals

Getting prepped for the next project. Should I put the stock D chamber jug on the nice looking 460 build, and build another beater saw and port the dome chamber cylinder for it, or the other way around?
I'd use the D chamber on my nice one, and try a 54mm on the beater.
I have an old 046 that is fun.

I started taking the 056 apart for cleaning. I have a 54mm cylinder to put on it when I rebuild it. I got it down to the crankcase assembly, and out of curiosity decided to check the jug diameter using the chopstick trick. Lo and behold, it was actually a 56mm magnum all along! It had a standard 056 badge on it, so I assumed it was a 52mm this whole time. Piston and cylinder look fine, bearings feel good, so I don’t really see a reason to take it any farther apart. That made my day!

The very same thing happened to me. I had two Solo 635’s. 90cc. I had been watching and waiting for a Solo 642 (105cc’s) to come along. One Saturday morning I decided to take the rougher of the two apart to look it over and discovered it had been upgraded to the 105cc at some point in time. I put some nicer covers on the saw, kitted the carburetor and ran it! Now I have one of each. Made my day too !

I got the 056 Mag cleaned up and mostly assembled. Pics are of some things mocked up. It has a stripped bar stud, wallowed out dog mounting holes, no air filter, clutch cover isn’t cutout for the wrap handle, and the incorrect flywheel. Flywheel and air filter is on order, I’ll helicoil the stud threads, notch out the cover, and JB weld the dog mounting holes.

I used an 041 stator plate and coil with a Nova II module for the ignition. We’ll see if it sparks with the new flywheel.

I can’t wait to run this thing.

I just bought a pair of project Husky 44s from @jacktheripper . I couldn't help it, I had to do it!! Both scored, but mostly there, they will definitely be fun projects!!

One of them has already fallen apart on the bench...time to start cleaning and figuring out what I need. The only parts really missing is a muffler and oil cap, bearings still seem really good, probably due for new oil seals and piston. I think the cylinder will clean up and be reusable.

Got my first pressure washer a few years back. Worked till it didn’t (~12 hrs) and they sent me a replacement. Didn’t ask for my nonrunner. Replacement never worked, would cut off when spraying. Got another replacement on the way yesterday. Today I tried backing the unloader valve off a couple turns and it works perfect. 👌
Got 3 new pressure washers now for the price of one. 🤷

If that's a just a standard Mag you can use a Mag II bar stud which is the next size up if your stud can't be helicoiled. Also, I'll send you a V-stack and a green weenie setup for that free of charge if you want it. All the 045 and 056 falling saws around here had the stock filter setup chucked and a green weenie setup installed instead. Looks a bit goofy, and unless you trim it down a bit the back of your hand will get blue, but a far better filter system overall.

That’s a generous offer that I can’t pass up! I saw a few saws with those setups in some videos. I already figured that out about the bar stud, so an 056 mag II stud with the larger inner side is already in the mail. Thank you very much!
