Ugh! thats a bad one! ^Yes what machine^ It maybe cheaper easier to just buy a new cylinder.

Looks like an aluminum weld fix.

-Weld an aluminum stud in place long enough to nut the muffler/carb on. This is not the best solution if your going to rip the saw apart again, as the aluminum stud may lend to leaking via stretching from heat/torque.
-Find a steel rod that fits inside the threaded hole and lightly JB weld it in the busted side. Then build up aluminum with a welder around the rod until there's enough to re-tap after you yank out the steel rod.

Or just ditch cut out the remanence of the threads, weld it back in solid and shoot a new hole.

Well some guys cant drill a hole in the right spot at the right angle unless there's a pilot there to start.... :rolleyes: Either way is dill baby drill and tap-tap-tap. :chuck:

Drill out the busted stud.
Weld it up, drill/tap.
Or, drill out oversized and tap to m8x1.25 and JB weld in a 5/16”, non-graded bolt. Drill/tap back to m5. Must be Uber-clean, use Acetone, not brake cleaner which leaves a film.
I did that on a 350 that looked like your.

Well Luckily in my case I have a jet drill press with both a cross slide vise and a adjustable angle vise.
It's a 500i. I'm not sure what exactly happened. Never seen it like this. It's Usually just stripped out threads. Not a big chunk of aluminum.

That's pretty wild, I'm stealing the word acrossed off of you if you don't mind.
Access granted! Reminds me when I took things for granite that my grammar would always make me synonym rolls!!
