Pepperwood is basically a nuisance out here as it grows wild and is a pain to clear. I've never seen it bigger than 10" to 12" diameter so I didn't think much about it when my friend said he had some for me to mill. Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when I saw this.

My favorite big/milling saw, my Jred 2094, and the 288 handled the log prep quite well.

take some time to admire it, as it'll never look so vivid again! something I learned milling big beautiful slabs is to stop after each one to admire them and get plenty of photos. awesome work, keep us updated with the pics

I did stare at a it a while because I was not expecting that. I hope it dries well. I saw a couple of bowls turned out of pepper wood that looked nice. I'll have to wait a couple years to find out.

Great looking stuff!! Wonder how much it twists/cracks as it dries?

I'd get plenty of weight on it when stickered with a grain like that! How hard is the wood?
