Found an ad for these two huskies on local "advertisement site?"
listed for 60$ for working one which has a hole in oil tank, but its sealed with rivets and silicone, but guy said that he will send me replacement case for it, other one was 35$, wasnt running and was supposed to be seized.
Didnt take a lot of time for me to decide that i must get them, as i always wanted to get my hands on husky.

** Forgive me for bad picture quality, this is my basement temporary winter setup as my garage is open-style so its quite cold out there**

Both looking fairly well, but that bar has some razor edges!

Intakes are very clean

**Cylinders look much better in person, than on pictures**
Sorry, forgot to take a picture before cleaning cylinders a bit, but there was a sh*t ton of carbon buildup.
Turns out that "seized" one isnt even seized, but has even better cylinder (left), working one is on the right, has 2 shallow scratches on walls (carbon fell off and scratched i suppose) but cannot really feel loss of compression.

Damn, grease your clutch bearings! All of three crankshafts are same, bearing is quite blue. Will see that can i do about this, only one crankshaft has a tiny little bit of conrod bearing up-down play, other two seem to be very fine.

As clutch drum weeble-woobled, it ate a clutch cover almost completely through on one of them, other one seems to be fine.

Both handles have a bulge at gas tank, is this normal or it bloated from seating with gasoline in for quite a while.

Something has cracked crankcase on this one, but i doubt it was when chainsaw was running as there is NONE damage on piston/cylinder.

Thats a lot of filth overhere, it even formed ball shaped "things" i guess from vibrations.
Will have some satisfying time cleaning them up.

Uncle Bill would roll over in his hospital bed if he saw those dry clutch drum bearings.

PS… Be careful sanding on 359 cylinders. I would estimate the plating to be only about .002 - .003” thick

Yep, honed it for 2-3 seconds just to check how it goes.
Can anyone tell me how "normal" is that bloating of the gas reservoar on handle.

Very well then about the tank, i thought that they were a gonners.
I will put metal clamps for sure, dont want it get lean.

Damn, had a hard time splitting this damn case, tried torching, pressing, hammering with wooden hammer (as i hammered my 064 easily), but this was STUCK, took this L shaped piece and welded them together, 3 holes and worked like a charm, literally with 2 fingers.
Dont worry, nothing was over-tightened, no risk of cracking a case.

What the hell, never seen so much carbon on bearings.
Hope that other, working one is not that bad.

Bearings and seals are cheap. If I split a case I replace them unless I know exactly how long they’ve been in there.

Wasnt even doubting about seals, definitely a replacement.
Im thinking to get a normal sealed or unsealed bearing, maybe SKF or slacker and remove plate or seal and put them in, that way im sure that i will put high quality bearings in, anyone done similar?
Bearings should be - 6202 ? Right?
