Picked up a Troy bilt tiller and it needs the engine replaced. Anyone have a Honda or Koehler engine replacement?

If you can't find one your wanting i done a Chonda swap on my 71 modle horse only two issues I had was I had to shim the drive pulley on the crankshaft can't remember how much and had to fabricate a mounting mechanism for the throttle cable pretty stright forward swap and has way more power than the original HH60 Tecumseh ever thought of having even after a fresh rebuild.

This one has an ancient Kohler on it with bad coil/points and they are $150

Found a replacement Kohler on eBay for $330 shipped. Was hoping someone may have a line on one or source cheaper. Thanks everyone

I repowered my BCS with a CH395 a few months ago. It's a nice engine for sure. Got mine from my local dealer for $398!

Here is a CH270 for cheap!

We've used a few horror freight motors and have NOT had a single problem. Hard to beat for the money

I think I’m going to try and restore the old original Kohler and if it doesn’t go as planned I’ll get the HF Predator for $125 it’s worth a try

Last couple of times I have gone in the three rural kings in our area, each of them had a few kohler 7hp motors NIB for right at $300. Evidently they came out with a new model or something or were doing some winter cleaning on their stock. May be able to find one there if you have one in your area. Plus their managers love giving discounts

What model BCS? I have a newer 732 with a Honda, but had an older one with the old Acme on it. I traded it in on my née machine at EarthTools.

Mine is a 720. Had a 7hp briggs I/c engine on it. The team at earth tools is great. Updated a few things on my 720 and Joel fixed me right up!

I was going to put a gx270 on it but cost was almost 200 more. Kohler also has much better customer service.
