I bumbled across a vid that lets you get an idea of the tone of the stock exhaust.
That's the exact, stock, muffler I hope to find at a price that I might afford.
They're a bit heavy, but that's why they have the low smooth tone.
Notice that little chamber section bulging in front of the shock.
People grab for those later mufflers vs the ealier high pipe without the chamber.
Mine has the silver~brushed aluminum tank.
Got some pinholes to solder. thanks Ethanol blended fuel.
I laid the money out across the bike's seat, brand new at the dealership, 48 summers ago.
Took the stock pipe off and put on a white Bros Super-Trapp. Was running around in the woods then, so the noise wasn't as big of an issue.
I put the stock exhaust in the shed and mostly forgot it for a few years.
Mice pissed & packed it full of rag bits (nesting) and the shed roof developed a little leak over it.
When I went to put it back on the bike, The muffler was pretty badly rusted out.
Life moved along and I just never bothered to track down another muffler.
He cranks it, about mid-way in the vid.
