This is a trick question....how can you add fuel to 1.75 gallons and end up with 1.75 gallons? If you would like to turn 1.75 gallons of 32:1 mix into 40:1 mix, you would have to add 1.75qts (.44 gal) of fuel for a total 0f 2.18 gallons of mix.Hey guys. So I'm having a little trouble here figuring out a mix ratio. Maybe you can help me solve it?
If started with 2 gallon of ethanol free 90 rec gas and added 8oz of Amsoil Saber that would make 2 gallons of 32:1 ratio mix. If you removed 32oz from this 2 gallons of 32:1 mix you would be left with 1.75 gallons of 32:1 mix. Now it you want to change that 1.75 gallons of ethanol free rec fuel 32:1 mix fuel to a 40:1 ratio mix, how much extra ethanol free 90 rec gasoline would you have to add?
In other words: How much gasoline would I have to add to make 1.75 gallons of 32:1 into 1.75 gallons of 40:1?
Got it wrong, I think it will take 34.16 oz 's of gas.You guys are good! In my attempt to be funny I confused myself! hahaha!
Thank You! @farminkarman @Ford3000
At 32:1, you have 1oz of oil per quart. So after removing a quart of mix, you have 7oz of oil left in the can. At 40:1, you multiply 7 x 40 = 280 ounces of fuel. If you are starting with 1.75 gal or 7 quarts, that is 224 ounces. 280-224= 56 = 1.75 qts.Better still, put that 1.75 gallons in

Your figures look correct. << go with this.At 32:1, you have 1oz of oil per quart. So after removing a quart of mix, you have 7oz of oil left in the can. At 40:1, you multiply 7 x 40 = 280 ounces of fuel. If you are starting with 1.75 gal or 7 quarts, that is 224 ounces. 280-224= 56 = 1.75 qts.
That's what I was tempted to say.4oz per gallon is easy. No maffs required. I say leave it and run it
^^^^This is the most correctest answer…unless you’re using that nasty silver bottle Stihl stuff4oz per gallon is easy. No maffs required. I say leave it and run it
Is the mix oil sold in 4oz bottles, or 3oz bottles in the US4oz per gallon is easy. No maffs required. I say leave it and run it
Mine are sold in 32 and 128 oz. But many are available in every common possible mixing scenario…2.6, 3.2, 5.6, 6.4, 8, 16…….it’s no wonder wonder folks are confusedIs the mix oil sold in 4oz bottles, or 3oz bottles in the US

That is quite a selection, should allow for different mix ratios.Mine are sold in 32 and 128 oz. But many are available in every common possible mixing scenario…2.6, 3.2, 5.6, 6.4, 8, 16…….it’s no wonder wonder folks are confused
Only metricoids see the funny in this thread.
Your 40:1 may be completely different than his 40:1. Same goes for 32:1 obviously. Randy doesn’t really have it tuned for anything other than his cutting conditions on the day he ran it. Every saw needs to be tuned when the weather, fuel, or elevation changesThis is what I did. Added 8oz to 2 gallons. So 32:1 is safe to run in a saw Randy has tuned for 40:1?
