We've been doing like that for many years except I cut it off about waist high then sink the saw in the stump 1/2 -3/4 the depth of the bar, shut the saw off, put my hip sgainst it to hold and start fileling.
That's a clever vice tho.

That's a clever vice tho.
That's pretty much all I know. If its firewood then just bore the tip in the trunk about 1/3 the length of the bar and cut down a couple inches so the caw will teeter in the slot.

Just bore cut into a tree - get the cutters that you can. Pull saw out; advance the chain; wash / rinse / repeat . . . .

12.98 thats kind of a ripoff because the original design was much longer one dude had his burning over six hours i think easy to make i think they are fun.
