Picked this up today at an automotive based swap meet. Its a jonsered 820, appears to be complete sans the bucking spikes. Piston is clean, may need rings as i feel it should have more compression for its displacement. But it runs on a prime.

I paid 5 bucks! I couldnt get my wallet out fast enough lol. So what about these saws? Never had one. Whats the good bad and ugly.20190407_120053.jpg

If it's a thin ring piston the rings could be stuck, pull it apart and unstick 'em. AV mounts are weak and unobtianium. Check the seals. I haven't seen any that sat for a long time that weren't dry rotted. Parts are getting scarce, yours looks mostly complete which is a good thing.

Other than that they're great old saws with loads of grunt. Enjoy!

It is thin ring, and actually by looking at them they give an appearance of being pinned down in the ring land. They may very well be stuck.

I have a few saws in the 80cc range such as 5200 countervibe, echo 800p, stihl 056. Etc etc. Where would this saw fall into place? Would it pull a 32" bar ok?

Good buy. Sold a non running 031 for $75 at a swap meet but couldn’t move a perfect running 49sp for $100. People are funny.
