StormDamage - 1.jpeg

Taller tree broke and locked into the leaner over a main trail. Can't touch this. There's a feller buncher and skidder about 400 yards away next door. Also, neighbor on the other side has a whistling monster 4wd backhoe. Otherwise, leave it till the leaves fall off so I can better see what's going on aloft. Or - just leave it. Hood is up on the tractor cause of hot start issues - carb is bolted directly to the cast iron block.

We would notch it and push it over with the skidder or feller head in about 5 minutes.
Yup. Will make arrangements with the neighbor next week. Three involved trees to notch. Then there's the matter of 30-40 white pines on our property that need to be harvested before they get too big, market permitting. Hmmm. Maybe it's time to think about a timber harvesting plan, wetlands protection, etc. Only so much you can do with a couple of chainsaws and a 14 hp tractor. The property used to be all pasture land back in the day with a separate well and a cranberry bog.

The property used to be cleared farmland back in the day, including a cranberry bog, which means wetlands protection.
Classic New England logging land lol, old abandoned field that grew back. You got the old stone walls bordering your property lines?

Stone walls on all property lines except on the west side where it cuts across an open field. Neighbor's cattle graze on much of our land. When they change fields, they come right up the driveway. Gets interesting when a couple of them stage a jailbreak.
