I bought this saw in a run of nice used 2159's and 359's about a year ago and have been putting them together with oem parts selling them here and there. This one is a 2005 year and is a very clean and low hour saw. I thought a end of the year build thread might have some interest. This is my first build thread.

This is the start. Saw is a known low hour running saw. Bearings great and passed pressure and vac test. Tore down and completely cleaned.

Squish band and combustion chamber cleaned up.

Base gasket and cylinder down and intake clamp and partition update.

Now working on stripping the top handle and painting. Also stripping the muffler and painting with high temp paint. More pics when painting is finished and a compression test.
Let me know what you think.

The high temp grill paint works excellent (rated up to 1200°).
I did one of mine & it has held up extremely well.
I sandblasted, sprayed with brake cleaner & heated the muffler with heat gun, warmed the spray can in hot water.
I want to do all my saw mufflers now! Lol

Very nice, should do a muffler mod on those cat saws.
I would do that but I leave that up the buyer. If they want it done, I will do it.
