I recently picked up a Stihl usg, but I'm a bit confused on the wheel attachment. I have the 3 parts in the picture. Looking at the manual it appears I am missing a rubber o-ring that goes on the very inside. There is also a hole through the shaft that corresponds with a hole on the inner bushing. Is there supposed to be a compression pin through the bushing/shaft or is that the hole used for a tightening stop? Am I missing something?

The hole in the inner bushing and shaft are there for a tool that you insert so that you can stop the shaft from turning when you change wheels . Basically a stiff piece of wire ..

Yep Nixon got the hole question covered. Not sure about the rubber o-ring since I haven't had either of mine apart. I leave the guard off and wear safety glasses. I keep a small Allen wrench near by for the shaft stop. You can use anything you want though.

The oring stops that inner bush from sliding down when changing wheels. I use ABN wheels which I have had come loose when the motor is turned off due to there inertia so I always leave the guard on. Just get some wing nuts for the bolts instead. They used to use them before going to screws
