stihl square chisel chain

i just had a friend bring me two brand new stihl chisel chains to grind and the cutters are noticably side beaked as well as softer than stihl chains used to be. Does anyone have an idea why or what the thinking is here?

When the tooling is grinding hundreds of thousands of cutters per day, things ware and get out of spec. No different to our grinders. Sometimes new chain looks good but just as often it looks average. Good news is...now it's in your hands and you can do whatever you desire to it.

lol that's true i fixed it. I thought maybe it was just a mistake but both sides were that way.

The only loop of Stihl square I ever bought was evenly beaked, lol right and left.. it cut ok but needed help in short order.
