Maybe a dumb question. But......
Does a 660 oil pump fit/work on MS461? Thanks.

Pretty sure 361/441/046/460/461 share the same external dimension oil pump. The 361 pump has the 1135 PN cast into it, and I have seen some 361 come with an 1128 pump from the factory.

1122 pumps are different from them. In addition, the 064 pumps have an outlet barb for the dreaded oil feed line and the 066 pumps are more like the 046 pumps that use a rubber grommet behind them to feed the case fed passage to the oil pump.

I have a couple 361's neither of which oil very good. Tried numberous pumps. Sorta like an 036 pro I once had. They just don't oil very good. I run 84dl's for reach. Sure would be nice if Stihl made a decent oiler.
I went to the 461 pump thinking it would at least keep up with a 24 easy enough, but no go.
Seems like HO time I guess.

The 461 pump should oil great on a 361. Sum Ting Wong.

You check the oil inlet line and strainer? Oil case vent? Output casting?

Yeah. I rebuilt both saws top to bottom. Lots of new OEM parts including pumps.
That's what I thought when I went to the 461 pump. I really thought it work.
I haven't found a non HO pump that will come close to emptying the oil oil tank ahead the fuel. Obviously turned up all the way.
I'm going to try another new 461 pump.
Maybe I got a bad one. Stranger things have happened.
I've got a 400. My guess is it's a 362 pump. Most other parts on that saw seem to be 362. The 400 oils relatively good with a 24. Maybe Stihl put a different pump on them. Who knows?
