My first post so thank you in advance for help.

Stihl multi tool fs85 fuel tank is leaking at both grommets and at cap. Tank itself appears in tact with pressure test unless grommet and cap leaks prevented seeing leaks on tank proper. Would you recommend replacing entire tank, cap and grommet lines or individual items? What caused grommets and cap to begin leaking?

Also where can I find aftermarket unit? I looked for it at huztl (farmertec) but nothing listed.

Thanks for help.

You don`t need to replace the complete fuel tank, just replace the defective parts. It`s easy to do. I would take original spare parts, they are often not much more expensive as aftermarket parts, but the quality is much better. Pop out the 2 grommets with a flat screwdriver. Parts you need are:

1. 2 grommets for the fuel tank (0000 989 0516)
2. 1m fuel line R3 (0000 930 2803) (it can only be bought at this lenght)
3. pickup body (in the tank) (0000 350 3502) (I would replace that too)
4. tank cap (4128 350 0505)

From that 1m fuel line, you have to cut 2 pieces: 1st with 185mm lengh (from the tank to the carburetor) and 2nd with 135mm lengh (from the carb primer back to the fuel tank.)

And if you already work on it, I would also think about carb cleaning and putting in a rebuild kit.
