Stihl BT 131 Z with drill chuck

I found a Stihl BT 131 for sale locally, in great shape. I want to use it as a auger, but it has a permant drill chuck installed. All of the IPL’s I have access to indicate the BT 131 comes with a splined shaft directly out of the gear box. Stihl pictures indicate that the common drill chuck attachment uses a splined adapter with retaining pin.

What does it take to convert this particular auger back to an earth auger?

What happens when you open the chuck right up, is there a left hand thread screw inside that can be removed so the chuck can be taken off? A Stihl tech will hopefully chime in, but I'd remove the chuck like you would a normal drill. Just remember LH threads are normally used on retaining screw.

I am looking to buy the auger from a private party. I won’t be able to remove the chuck. I was thinking it would be a smooth shaft with a retaining screw.

This appears to be an anomaly. All IPL’s I’ve been able to find show the pin and coupler.

The shaft costs about 35 Euros in Germany + some gaskets this would end up about.
But you have to remove the chuck to open the gear case.

Did you ever figure out how to convert it back I have the same drill and want to convert it back to an earth auger what all do I need?
