Stihl 084 upper av mount

What are you all using as a replacement for the upper av mount on the fly wheel side of the saw. Heard some are using the mount from a 880 also see there is an aftermarket option.

It appears to me the only difference in the 084 and 880 mount is a tab. I would assume the tab is a guide for the ground and short circuit wires

I beleive I used the 880 mount when I rebuilt my 084. It worked fine.

I ordered the one you have a link to on eBay. I've not installed it yet, but it looks perfect.

The 084 mount is thinner the 880 mount and find it pushes the tank over if you install it.

I bought one of the aftermarket ones in the link above. And payed dearly for 2 NOS on eBay from a guy in Australia.

Anything 084 is expensive these days especially NOS lol

Any feedback @jmester @Billy Currie on the aftermarket mounts you purchased? I need one for a customer's saw and want to know whether the huge amount you pay for an OEM one is worth it or whether the aftermarket ones work OK?

I have not used mine. Bought it as a spare to have on hand. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful. It feels as stiff/ridgid as oem.
