How'd ya get stuck with that Armstrong (crescent style) tool post?
Seemed like every time I encountered one, the center bolt was wallered into the shape of a center punch from being on an angle against the (up tilted) tool holders.
That or it was bent from walking sideways when someone used a pipe to tighten it on an angled tool holder.
You couldn't just put a block/plate underneath to level them, since None of the different tool holders never seemed to be anywhere near to the same centerline height
I hope you are happy now. Lol
New fangled boring bars on the way to go on the quick change boring bar holder.
No more setting the height every time.

Be sure to keep a pack of the hex keys for the pin/center screws of the tooling/inserts.
And the pins too!
Best to think of them as just another consumable needed for the job.
Either one gets loose or the hex gets sloppy, they tend to strip pretty quick then.

If the pocket of the tool, where the insert fits, gets worn. Usually wears the tip down on a bit of a taper or curve.
The carbide inserts will crack like glass if the seat is not flat and clean.

Was decided upon to make an insulation pad underneath the muffler, seeing as a new one wasn't in the cards. Alex sent some material to me to work with and the stipulation to make it in the vain of the original.
Where can we get material like that? My MS 170 neeeeeeeeds it bad!! It would be handy to have for saws that have darkening or scorch marks on the case or lid from the muffler.

Just wondering if there’s a way of modding that fuel pipe breather, so it don’t dribble while it’s sleeping on its side.
I got a 044 that’s similar and I’ve tried to mod it but haven’t come up with anything.
Where is it dribbling from, the end with the grub screw? If so, have you tried a second grub screw in the vent. I have an 046 that came to me with two grub screws and don't have any issues with drainage from there.
