Got a 064 with bad flywheel side thread on crankshaft and i took it to my godfather if he could fix it on a lathe, weld a new piece on it and weld it there then make new thread and so on...
He decided to do this way, drilled a 1.5cm deep hole in crankshaft and simply put m8 screw in there to hold a flywheel.
Now i just hope that it wont break off and end up in my forehead at 12k rpm.
Yes, ill have to make key a bit shorter to fit.

More than one way to skin a cat.

In reality... that can hold more tension on the flywheel taper than the original stud. just add a dab of blue loctite if you are feeling anxious about it.

Yep, after all it has more cross section surface area (If i said it correctly) than original stud.

This might work very well because the key means nothing to hold the flywheel to the tapered shaft. The key just indicates the correct placement of the wheel for timing.

Your godfather must be an excellent mechanic to drill the hole and cut the threads. I have to mention that I have stripped those threads on the flywheel nut at one time or another. There are not enough threads on that OEM nut.
