Stihl 011AVEQ ignition trouble.

Bosses 011 has no spark, pulled apart and disconnected stop wire and still no spark. Has a funky looking little module on the coil. Anyone with experience on these if it's the coil or module? Is there a modern replacement that works?

That funky module thing is the 1118 trigger unit - the trigger unit is usually what goes bad. I can't remember if the EQ was a points saw or not, I think the EQZ has the solid
state ignition. If you have a spare trigger unit of some kind (Atom or Nova would work), swap that in first and see what it gets you.

Thanks! Ordered a Stens module to try. I used one on an old Kawasaki powered backpack blower and it worked perfectly. I'll post an update once I get it.

usually if the saw says av it could be whatever ignition but the ave anti vibe electronic and aveq is anti vibe electronic quick stop.

Installed the Stens module and still no spark. Called local Stihl dealer to see if an electronic coil is available.

Boss ended up buying an el cheapo coil from eBay/amazon and I installed it and now we have fire but it won't pop, even on mix down the carb. This thing is driving me nuts! Grrrr. @jacob j. I will send you a PM.
