So I have this problem whenever my grinder is spinning one way it will loosen the nut in the bottom that holds the disc on, which makes sense because it's spinning the way to loosen it, but is this a common thing to happen? There's nothing I can really grab onto to counter a wrench when tightening either, any suggestions?

I tighten them with my hand, never use a a wrench, never had any nuts come off. Just spin the nut on then grab the whole assembly(wheel and nut) in your palm/hand and tighten, holding the grinder/lock stop button with other. One less tool to be looking for in the shop.
Do unplug the power if you go this route though
Don’t believe there is an arbor lock on my Simington

FYI moving forward… It’s generally frowned upon essentially deleting your posts. Plus this is still visible in Kevin’s quote so you really didn’t accomplish anything. The thread would’ve been confusing if he hadn’t quoted.:nusenuse: No big deal this time but keep in in mind thanks.

I did it for safety not because of shame. I don't want someone trying to hand tighten a square grinder and injure themselves.
