I've read ALOT on here about square filing so I guess it must be worth it lol. I'm going to make a stab at it by hand. If my saws like it I might get a grinder for giggles. For 3/8 chain, what size file do you need? any specific type of file or will just a normal square file work?

I've got a bunch of odd ball files that look like triangles. Reckon they would get close?
They’re in various places still I believe. The links I had for them were on back order last I looked. I’d try google

The file needs to have 6 sides. Triangle won’t work. Even though a triangular shaped file used for square filing looks like a triangle, it still has six sides. Flat file won’t work either.

10-4 on the 6 sides. Ill see if I can conger one up here in the next few days
