I like the splined carb screws on my 2166 (372xt). No fumbling around trying to get the screwdriver in the the slot. Splined driver handle has 4 flat sides. What are the chances of getting more of splined screws out of junk carbs maybe (it seems like I’ve run into them on smaller HO eqpt) and fitting them to other saws? I might even go so far as rethreading carb bodies and reshaping screw tips if needed. I’ve rebuilt plenty of carbs but rarely pay attention to thread size or have multiples apart at the same time.

2511, 2139, 2159, 266xp, 288, 395, 3120, 6100, 7900…

I would try to square off the existing needle screw to match your screwdriver

i have wondered this too. or if you could just buy replacement screws that have a normal screw head as opposed to the plastic limiter caps. like on some smaller saws. are the screws on a non epa carb the same as the epa ones except they have the limit caps
