Following along with my theme of saws, this is the WestCoast version of this saw. So it will be built this way. BTW if any gents happen to have any spare parts laying around and want to part with some shoot me a message!

This is one cool project. I have two 680s to go through myself, along with a 690 and two 603s.

Did you not have any luck getting parts from sawracr?

20200524_171828.jpg 20200524_171847.jpg Not really sure what to do now (pray for someone to say "ya its all good, just run it")? I could build a 670 instead but dont really want to. Also im pretty sure someone was trying to change intake timing! Its amazing how small the ports are on these!

What is everyones thoughts on sending cylinder out to get repaired and replated? Any recommendations on where to send? or should I just add bridge ports where the damage is under the transfers?

that's awesome but will they ship to USA? Need to translate it though

Keep in mind that the 55mm and 56mm top ends are not directly compatible with the 680 chassis. Those are for the 690 (55mm) and 603 (56mm), which use a different
crankshaft with a longer stroke.

The 670 and 680 use the same crank, and the 690/603 use a different crank.

That jug may be salvageable. For a piston, I would take a look at the big bore 372 piston. They seem to have about the same crown height as the 680
piston and also use a 12mm wrist pin. An 064 piston is another option.

I would clean up that jug real good, smoothing out those grooves and finishing everything down with 400 + 600 grit sandpaper and cutting oil or
Liquid Wrench. I think you can make a runner out of that.

Thanks for the info.

I figured I would do that but was just thinking outside the box a bit. I also have a back up 670 P&C. Still wont beable to do anything without the air shroud that goes in before the starter housing

You might contact "motor5411" on ebay - he has a lot of Solo parts. Kevin Rottman still has some stuff as well - Rottman Sales.

I've got a contact in Germany I'll check with as well.
