Hey Studs,

Bought a little Powerhouse 9 Ton Electric Splitter last year. Runs great...and will split some decent size logs.
Does anybody have any experience with the smaller 4 way splitter wedge like below, that you just drop over the top of your single wedge?
Read one review where a dude says it has a tendency to fly off under pressure from especially gnarly wood...i.e. "hedge, hickory, ironwood, sweetgum and so forth!" :frown:
Just saw a couple videos of them in action and was wondering how it would work out...guess I'm too bored!:eusa_whistle:

I use a slip on 4 way occasionally. The hight of the wings in a big factor. Mine are too high and I end up having to re-split the bottom splits. Once the wood engages the wedge it never moves on my set up.

I have one on my 22 ton. Works good but have to be carful on dry ash. It has launched a few peices pretty good. Almost got the boy last year with a block.

My 4 way is home made. I changed the blade angle sinse then and it dont seem to build presure as bad as befor.

@SpaceBus ...had to dig back to ‘15 to find these. I ran across a vid on YouTube one day and the fella I ordered this from had a link posted to purchase one...he’s in north Ga. If I dig enough, I could prob come up with some contact info on him. He may or may not be making these anymore, just don’t know on my end...might be worth a shot. It’s a damn good slip-on 4-way, doesn’t check up regardless of what wood type you put in front of it. With these Dual Splits having a 7-sec cycle time each way on the extend/retract stroke and using the 4-way, it’ll damn near keep up with my SuperSplit HD that has less than half the Dual Split cycle-time each way.

A lot of the stuff I end up splitting only needs to be quartered because most anything larger than that will be milled. I think shipping would kill it for me, but with your photos I could probably find someone that could make it for me.

If you want me to spec it out with a tape measure across all dimensions, let me know...wouldn’t take much material nor time to fabricate/weld one up.

I'm not in any hurry, when things are better I'll take you up on it. I also have to find a welder.
