Used those a lot on log, and post and beam construction. After awhile a guy gets good enough with a regular chainsaw to not need it often.

Same concept as a Prazi beam cutter that can be adapted to a circular saw. I bought a Prazi at an auction several years ago for $5.00 because I was the only one who knew what it was.
this is what you need for beams, it has a 16” blade. My only advice is to hold on with both hands.
