I’ve been playing with this grinder-

Which is the correct placement of the paw/stop?
1. In the Tie strap-

2. Behind the tooth?

Also,
What causes the wheel washer/keeper to gradually rub against the guard?

Where is the best place to source wheels & wheel dressing wheels?

Thanks.

Thank You.

Mine is a 500.

When you flip from the side pictured to the opposite, do you just move the base to the other stop or do you also move the head/grinder itself?

Mine is a 500 as well, it’s turn the base and change which pawl is being used the only thing that gets done to the grinder head is wheel direction.

I guess I need to tweak this one a bit because I had to adjust the pawl slightly after rotating the base to grind the other side, the wheel was too far from the tooth.

Almost sounds like it’s time for a new wheel, seems like from memory if the wheel is short you have to adjust it side to side.

Heath, I bet one of your pawls is shorter than the other. @srcarr52 makes replacement pawls that are beautifully machined and smooth as silk. I almost bought a second set just to look at :D

That usually means the wheel center is directly over the table centerline. There is a stop bolt on the bottom of the arm you can use to adjust this.

If you do need new chain stops I just made a bunch of them.
