Ended up w 16 planks. Large log was cut at 2 1/8” thick, smaller one at 1.5”. (bottom slabs were painted to seal)

I was curious about that too. On the smaller log, I cut 7” deep 1st cut. 4” screws into a 2x8 (as a mill guide), then we flipped it over and it had no trouble at all finding those screws. Quick math says they were 3” deep on that bottom side.How deep does the metal detector detect metal in a log?

40/1 Red Armor. It's one of the least offensive smelling oils I've used. 89 octane 10%eth pump gas. I usually use 87 but it was a hot day so I opted for a few more points in case.What oil do you run in them, and what ratio?
That’s one if the primary reasons for removing it. They have 3 dogs.Watch out if you have a dog that likes bark. Friends Bernese mountain dog got deathly ill from chewing on black walnut bark, when he was mulling some large cants. Dog just sat there chewing on bark chunks, didn’t think anything of at the time.
