Hi all I am wondering if it is possible for someone to look up the serial number on a saw that I have to determine when and where it was purchased. I let my brother inlaw borrow a saw and I don't think he brought back the one i let him take.

im not exactly sure. i questioned him the day of but today after i got done putting a different saw together i picked that one up and fired it up and makes a horrible grinding noise going to pull the exhaust tomorrow and look in. the overall condition of this saw is way worse than the he took. which i said at the time but upon a closer look this saw cant be the same one.

So he didn't abuse it: roll logs onto it, let it roll around in the back of the truck, get pine sap all over, run straight gas, no bar oil, and with a dull chain?

he only needed to cut one small tree stump off. i sent my gas and oil with him so he didnt or shouldnt have straight gassed it. now that i think about he didnt bring back the gas can

what i really think happened is he ran over it with his tractor and went and got one from a hawk shop

that is the only saw i would loan out. none of the others are loaned to anyone except my cousin if needed one since he has many of the same saws as me it would just be a swap if he wrecked mine for some reason

no i didnt get a good saw back thats the point of this message. i fired it up yesterday and it sounds like there is sand inside it

If he has the same saws as you, there would be no good reason
for him to want yours, plenty of bad ones though, Say no.
