So i got a dumb question. If the mount bolts came loose for a clamshell motor would that cause low compression. 3 bolts loose and one gone. It only had 70psi befor i started tearing it apart. Piston and cylinder look pretty good still.

Way too much air gets into the combustion chamber. Simple as that. I once ran into this on a Stihl 064. Two bolts were actually missing completely.

Comp is made after the piston gets above the exhaust port, how does more air get up there from a loose cyl?
If more air got in there it should increase compression.
