Probably caused by it fast idling with the brake on. It would take around 400degF to stamp that plastic with a hot rim.

This is my old 395 that my employees melted down a few years ago. I’d imagine that was the heat source…

I've seen that happen from missing the sprocket with the chain, dropping it between the rim and clutch and then running it...
