So I decided I was going to try my hand at crossbow hunting. Keep in mind I have not done much hunting in the past 20+ years. I decided to try my hand with a crossbo now that the state I hunt in is more lenient.
Plus they are WAY cool!

Well spent a fair bit this weekend getting used to shooting and did some sighting in.

Quite but I don't know if that target would stop mine ? I had to buy one rated to 400/450 FPS ? Spyderweb target.
But mine seams loud in comparison.

There is a second rubber target behind the box stuffed with clothes. But on that note I just got my spiderweb target in the mail today.

When I got my ghost400 I shot my buddy's block target and it buried it to the vanes and wrinkled em was a huge PIA to get out!!
Ordered Spyderweb. Nice targets. Im sure you'll get some deer with that setup.

That mirrors my experience with the rubber foam block. I was just impatient hence the box of clothes in front of the rubber block. It worked well for about 30 shots then fell apart.

I installed what is called ex-shox on the bow. They came with my bow just not installed and can be bought separately. Here is a vid of the install.

I did a braided leather wrap around the cheek weld and stock giving it a softer (warmer) feel in the cold. Lol

Next stage, installed and checking out the new Ex-shox, the wrap on the cheek weld, and Kent's custom strings.

Still shooting ole horton exp and hunter crossbows. Guessing 25 plus years old.

Started off on a recurve style barnett before that.

Crossbows have come a long way. Watching one shooting 100yds in commercial and cost $1500.
