I did quite a bit of clean up on and in it ,but it was in decent shape.
These saws are really a Partner design made in Sweden and also sold as the Jonsered 2077 as well as the Partner 7700.
If this sounds confusing, join the club.
Its a 77cc saw with bottom feed transfers and a WJ walbro carb.

The plastic clutch cover is sort of a weak point and finding a metal cover is difficult to non obtainable.
I found a website that still carries some parts but I went ahead and ordered a 395xp HD outer bar plate for a fit test.20220326_164657.jpg
The stud holes needed to come in a bit but it fit fine over the plastic guides and offers alot more metal in the area.

This is what the regular inner bar plate for a Husqvarna looks to fit like.

Wanted to open the muffler up but not butcher a saw that not many people have used. The muffler is an incredibly quality piece, the metal is thick and well formed. Absolutely the best factory produced muffler I've ever had.

As with all old saws not NIB there's things that have been lost. Like the heat shield behind the muffler.

A little starter/ header heat wrap with adhesive backing should help.

I also torched and wire brushed the carbon buildup out of the muffler.
The bigger Stihl cylinder bolts worked well for a new muffler set up . I believe that they a 6mm.

I think it would have liked a semi skip or skip tooth chain in White oak( could be chestnut oak?) The oiler seemed to be struggling to keep up with the 28" also but I discovered quite abit of gunk behind the clutch drum which probably didn't help.
Pics aren't loading up at the moment so post more later.

These and the 505 are good saws but they never really caught on. The pro fallers here felt like these saws had too much "plastic" at the time and didn't care for them despite the fact that they run good.

Do you know who put what piston in that saw? Oem would have been a single ring piston.

I would guess the OEM rev limited coil has been swapped.
I know nothing of this saws previous repairs or life.
I kind of thought it would be a single ring piston.
But also some of the replacement oem parts might have changed, the inner bar plate is a regular husqvarna and does not look like the original, oem parts ordered through parts tree.

Oh how times have changed! Compared to my 394 they are quite close in physical size ,Its a large saw. They really could have expanded on this platform.

BTW this saw cost me about the same as the equivalent of a clone saw of the same cc, actually less with the west coast kit already on it.
