Do you know who put what piston in that saw? Oem would have been a single ring piston.Next its always a good idea to inspect the piston and cylinder, ( compression felt very good initially).

I would guess the OEM rev limited coil has been swapped.
Oh how times have changed! Compared to my 394 they are quite close in physical size ,Its a large saw. They really could have expanded on this platform.These and the 505 are good saws but they never really caught on. The pro fallers here felt like these saws had too much "plastic" at the time and didn't care for them despite the fact that they run good.
