Petrified wood. Probably seasoned a few thousand years.What is it? Locust burns the longest here.
Never been able to get any heat trying to burn rocks in my OWB. Any tips?I think this stuff could be the longest burning hard wood. 3 drawbacks, 1) it’s really heavy 2) does not want to split 3) it seems impossible to get burning.

That was riveting!Maybe not so long. You know the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in the early 80's? It looks like it needs no long Time, but a cataclysmic event.
There are lot of Trees that are petrified on this event.
