Anyone build any portable firewood racks out of pallets you can move with tractor or skid steer? Pics?

That's neat cr73 what do you move them with? I have a 60hp tractor with front end loader. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't lift one of those if it was loaded with firewood. That's just what I was thinking though maybe just on a smaller scale. Thanks for the picture!

What are the dimensions of those pallets & what portion of a cord do you think they hold?

Not cheap, unfortunately, not even in bulk.
That said, this is the way I'll most likely be going, but with a few modifications, and buying direct from China where these bags are made. Minimum order quantity is about 500, which is down from the 1000 they originally wanted.
The modifications I need are for a quick-release/flood loading system where I can hover two bags over a truck, pull a rope and instantly empty the bags. Have done some preliminary testing of a design and works surprisingly well.

Sandhill Crane on AS built these racks. He moves them around with a moffit, one of those 3-wheeled fork lifts that you see delivery trucks use.

He just took delivery of this wrapper last month and now stacks his wood like this.

He has a really nice set up.

The wood racks shown in post #11 have worked well. I built them to season wood because leaving it on the ground in conveyor piles made for ugly, moldy wood in short time. Stacking wood for sales is incredibly labor intensive and time consuming, so I am trying something else, the Posch PackFix hydro. Consequently, I posted the racks pictured above in the classified 'not tool' section today for anyone close by in S.W. Michigan.

Welcome Crane, it's good to see you over here

Did you make it home without any issues on Saturday?

I saw four firetrucks along the way, parked to the west and looking for tornadoes. It was pretty ugly out and raining hard. By the time I got home, ten miles away, the sun was out. Later heard of touch downs to the south and east of the chainsaw get together that morning. Not surprised really. Nice turn out, and great spot, minus the rain. Thanks for the tip on OPE. Been reading up on sharpening...
When the sun came out I rolled the window down and heard Santa's sleigh bells jingling. Wow, he's early. I looked around all excited. Just kidding. It was the safety chains dragging. Raining so hard I didn't hear them till then. Must have slipped off when I hit that one little bump in your drive. Need some snap hooks on there.

Yea, straight south of us one mile was where it touched down.....

It was close. I don't think that GTG will be one that is soon forgotten.

Has anyone tried using those metal totes after removing the plastic liners?
