Aren't you afraid of damaging the hose with the serrations? I see the imprints in the rubber from the serrations and cringe. The other day I had no choice though. There was no way to get those hoses on with just my fingers.

Finesse is your friend. Don’t squeeze so hard I’m also using nearly worn out pliers so the serrations are about gone.

Stihl has a special tool like that for working the oiler hose kits on the 034/036, 064, and 084 saws.
