They're hard to find Ted. Is it missing or just swelled up? Leave it off the saw for a few days and they'll shrink back down. Must be the ethanol cause they didn't do that years ago.

I'll look but I don't think I have any either

If sitting off the saw don't work you can put them in a zip lock bag and put them in the freezer for a few days and that works good. I had one so bad that I had to use channel locks to get it off. I think DSS is correct that it's the ethanol, this winter I stored mine with true fuel and had no problems.

Thanks, Chris. Yes, this has been a problem with the cap on the PP BP655. The material is definitely different from the caps on the Pioneer saws.

I will try the True Fuel solution until I source a proper cap! I am also using the channel lock solution today .... :(

your talking about the black cap and not the gray one right ? i can see what i have

Yep, the black Pioneer old-school Bakelite cap. Thank you for checking.

You could also check Chainsawr, I have seen them there once in a while.

Found this old thread, ! I am need of a fuel cap. Picked up a 655 at automotive swap meet. I have a running bp655. Was using for milling. Want to get new purchase making chips again ,,, need fuel cap , and looking for a long bar for mill use ??
