On a string trimmer carb ,(think small) would you use a small bead of this stuff on the rebuild gaskets to make sure the carb is sealed up good? It is non-hardening and you can easily remove it with paint thinner or denatured alcohol, I forget which. But it's great stuff around gasoline connections.

I actually spray the carb gaskets with an aerosol oil, like Amsoil MP, PB Blaster, etc. This accomplishes two things: 1) prevents the gaskets from sticking to the aluminum next time it needs to be disassembled; 2) by pre-wetting the gaskets, the carb is crisp to tune, and holds it. It’s been stated that if the gaskets are dry when assembled, they begin soaking up the fuel and can (not always) cause tune ability issues.
