What's the latest updates on the Oregon Versacut bars?

I am attempting to do some research on lightweight bars in the 16" and 18" length for 3/8" pitch .050 gauge chain on a Stihl large (3003) mount.

I've settled on buying the Tsumura Light & Tough from @fordf150 in the 20", 24", and 28", but I can't seem to find those same model bars yet in the shorter lengths.

A little search on the forum came up with this thread that certainly got my attention with the two bars delaminating:

I know @sawmikaze and @LittleLebowski have ran them.

Anyone else have any experience you care to comment about with the Oregon Versacut bars?

Thanks!

I have a 24" versacut bar, large mount Husky but, I haven't put enough run time on it to see any flaws. I like the bar but cant judge long term reliability yet. This is the first time I've heard of them delaminating.

Idk, I'll have to look at mine to see if it says where it was manufactured.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far. I’ll write to Oregon and ask them where they are made.

I have 4 myself and my brother has 2 that he runs all the time as well. I’ve sold 10-15 of them and haven’t heard any complaints. They are a cheap light weight bar so comparing them with a Sugi and Tnsumura isn’t really fare, they are a third of the price. They are a great light weight bar and seem to be holding up well with severe fire wood cutting. I doubt they’d last 10-12 hours a day logging. For the money I think they are as good of buy as there is in light weight bars

Co-worker needs the stump flush and the trunk bucked up.
He’s done all he can do with an 18” bar & 5105.
I’d say he done well.
I’ve got the MMWS 661, 2IL 9010 & MMWS 7900/7910 loaded up with 32”, 28” & 24” bars.

Can’t seem to find all of my 24” loops since the GTG though :(

@MG2186 sold me one I’ve used on my 346. It’s holding up well. I think he has a few in service.

I bought a 24” for my 2166/2172 but I don’t have much time on it. It is very light. Far lighter than either my 24” sugi or Tsumura

I've ran the balls outta one on a ms 261, it doesn't owe me anything..and you cant beat the price :)

Who is selling this on here?

Not sure. I couldn’t find anyone either. I got an 18” Stihl 3003 mount (180VXLHD025) arriving tomorrow for $38.07 shipped from Amazon.

BTW, I haven’t heard back from Oregon yet regarding where they are manufactured, but at that price I am expecting the finest Chinesium grade material from the bowels of Li’s Big Rock Candy Mountain.

I just snagged an 18" K095 TSUMURA from Nate aka @fordf150 for $42.99 plus shipping.

Nate @fordf150 still has some listed on his old web page:
https://performance-outdoor-equipme...s/oregon-versacut-20-3-8-050-72dl-200vxlhd009
https://performance-outdoor-equipme...s/oregon-versacut-24-3-8-050-84dl-240vxlhd009

These are listed under D009 mount, there may be more I just didn't bother looking.

EDIT:
VersaCut search tag:

To answer at least one question...
That is what I suspected when I purchased a Dolmar branded Oregon laminate bar in D009 mount and it was bent like an S-curve.
The replacement I kindly received free of charge is marginally better but still less straight than my eldest D009 bar in usage which is counting 12 years and going strong.
I guess I better take care and hold on to my old bars!

The "Designed in whereever" doesn't mean poop if the product is manufactured cheaply without attention to detail.
