Has anyone run this chain? I noticed the tree company I service saws for uses it a lot. It has very thin cutters which I assume is for less cutting resistance, but I often find bent and missing teeth. I have since broken off many teeth that have bent to make the chains usable again.

Has anyone run this chain?
R = series 90, 3/8 low profile pitch, narrow kerf, .043 gauge chain.

It is Narrow Kerf, Low Profile chain. Used on a lot of pole saws, smaller gas saws, battery powered saws, etc. I have used it a lot, and like it in those applications. Should be run on a narrow kerf bar (assume that any 0.043" bar would be).

It will not hold up to abuse, pinching, etc., as well as a heavier 'chassis' chain (thicker, heavier drive links, tie straps, cutters, etc.). But it will run a long time, e.g. on a pole saw between sharpenings (less dirt up in the air). I have it on my Oregon 40V pole saw, and my STIHL HT131 pole saw.

I would spin out and replace any bent teeth on these, rather than try to straighten them. I don't reuse tie straps on these either; they are so thin that they are easily deformed, without being seen, which leads to a tight link.

Oddly, it takes a different size (larger!) file than standard 3/8 low pro chain for optimum cutting.

They run them on 193t's, and all I can guess is that the teeth can't handle the torque. The teeth do fit up high, so I could see using a bigger file. I do like the design if it wouldn't deform so easily.

I've never seen such twisted teeth on any other .043 chain.
